We are able to offer specialised advice. As we say, we are not just a Switchboard builder. We consider ourselves to be an engineering company that build Electrical Distribution equipment. We have a number of Consulting firms in Melbourne that come to us for specialised advice. These services range from giving a report on an existing switchboard, to helping with switchroom sizing.

Modifications to Existing Switchboards
We offer this service to all parties. Are you aware, that it is illegal to offer electrical work, if you are not a Registered Electrical Contractor. If it’s a switchboard that needs modification, it is either proscribed or non proscribed work, and as such, requires a Certificate of Electrical Safety. Remember the ads run by Energysafe Victoria. You must ask two questions.

Are you a Registered Electrical Contractor ?

Will you provide a Certificate of Electrical Safety ?

We say yes to both.

Discrimination and Co-ordination.

We offer this service to ensure all electrical distribution on a project is suitable. AS 3000, will make this mandatory. ......................Do you comply?

We are able to complete a complete power distribution survey. This includes from the utility transformer, to the LV Main Switchboard, Distribution boards, and sub circuits.

We can do this as a separate contract, or include it as part of our package for the switchboards.

We make it work. Let us give you a complete package from the main board, to distribution boards to sub distribution. It’s not hard to achieve, but someone has to do it. Switchboard builders have your best interests at heart. Don’t let a cheap price on a Distribution Board cause you long term headaches trying to achieve discrimination and coordination.

Approvals
Fact of life.  The current Service and Installation Rules, are not easy to comply with. Power retailers are tired of being served up designs which are not suitable for connection. It is painful for all parties.

We will take the design, ensure it complies, and walk the design through with the individual  Power Company. We will get face to face, and solve the issues before you are in trouble. Based upon these discussions, we will then submit our Workshop Drawings for Approval with the Consultant.
 
Reports on your Current Switchboard
We offer a service to provide a detailed report on the sate of your switchboard. This can include from Thermograpic survey. Power survey of your loads, including harmonics. Are you wasting money on bad power factor?

We took all the things we know about building custom built, custom sheetmetal switchboards, and applied the thinking to a modular switchboard. We now build custom built switchboards, out of modular parts.

The basic design is base and roof section, of various widths, side walls, front doors and back panels.From these simple parts, anything is possible. We must be doing something right. We have been building this design, and refining it since 1990.
